Project Goals

  • Establish an online resource to tell the story and history of the Doxsee Company and his family
  • Create a digital presence for both of Bob’s speaking engagements
  • Transform the user experience to make content easier to find and connect with

The Challenges

Content Collection

Organizing all assets from the previous website to make sure we had everything needed for the new final product

Consolidation

Since the previous website had a lot of inner links that weren’t easily accessible, we needed to compile all of those links into the new 7 page website

The Reasoning

  • In order to invest in the user’s emotions, historical significance should be conveyed via content and visuals
  • Create a traditional, natural and tactical tone throughout the design
  • Use visual assets directly from Doxsee’s Asset Library
  • Direct website visitors towards the “Hire Bob” page through call-to-action buttons

The Solution

  • Typography: Serif header with a sans-serif paragraph choice to convey a traditional voice with modern sensibilities.
  • Colors: Warmer Tones such as brown, tan, white as well as a gradient combination of yellow and orange. This conveys a sense of history and tactile experience.
  • Graphics: Using provided imagery for the backgrounds, textures, focused colors, and especially the re-created poster art upheld the historical significance of the content.
  • Layout: The use of ripped paper, fade, and gradient effects all add to achieve a more vintage effect between content sections.
  • User Flow: Focused the call-to-action buttons on “Hiring Bob” page for his speaking engagements, along with learning about the history of the Doxsee legacy.

The Results

Bob Doxsee and his family were thrilled with the new website design. They were excited to have a place online to promote Bob’s speaking engagements and a version of Doxsee History that is responsive as well as user-friendly.
